Holiday At Home is a day for the retired, particularly those who are unable to get out much.
It meets in the Old School, adjacent to the church, twice a year, in January and July. The day runs from 10am - 4pm.
It is for any retired person in the community, (you don’t have to belong
to St. Paul’s Church). Please note that we are not yet able to accommodate
wheelchairs.You can expect good company; excellent talks, demonstrations or entertainment; “Songs of Praise” – Tongham style, and fantastic food!
Previous
days have included talks by our Community Safety Wardens; working with watercolours;
flower arranging; how to age healthily – and enjoy it; a lifetime of
sewing; Macmillan Cancer Support; poetry; card-making; how I became a vicar;
the story of Sainsburys – with pre-lunch tastings!; Redfields Garden
Centre - making hanging baskets; the history of Tongham; musical entertainment
with Roger Davies (Tony Rogers of “Stars in their eyes”)
